Intimate Dinner Event to Commemorate Signing of UN Declaration of Human Rights

On Thursday December 10th 2009, I will be speaking at an intimate dinner event to commemorate the 61st anniversary of the signing of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights. The dinner is sponsored by the group Responsible for Equality and Liberty and will be held in conjunction with similar events taking place across the globe, including in Washington D.C. and Nuremburg, Germany.

The question that will be asked is: "Where has the United Nations gone astray from its originally articulated vision of human rights?"

The dinner will take place at Samalita's Restaurant (located at 87th and 1st Avenue) and speakers, beside myself, include award-winning investigative journalist and nationally-syndicated columnist Joel Mowbray and New York City based journalist Heather Robinson whose writings focus on human rights and Middle East politics, including pro-democracy movements in the Muslim world.

The cost to attend the dinner is $30, which includes a three-course meal. There are vegetarian options available at dinner.
