Former Child Soldier Shares Message Of Peace At Hall High School

WEST HARTFORD — Hundreds of students got to their feet when Emmanuel Jal came bounding into the Hall High School auditorium on Friday morning, rapping along to a video for his song, "We Want Peace."

They waved "peace sign" fingers in the air and started to clap in time as the Sudanese child-soldier-turned-rapper, author and peace activist sang the words, "I'm calling on the whole wide world … Let's scream and shout that we want peace."
